Body found in Brunswick tentatively identified as Amber Whited

·

BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Action News has learned from law enforcement and friends of Amber Whited that the body found in Brunswick near highway 99 and Chris Road has been tentatively identified as that of the missing mother.

The 22-year-old mother had been missing since Tuesday afternoon, when she left for lunch. She was last seen getting in her car at the Harley-Davidson on Perry Lane Road in Brunswick. Whited's car was found Wednesday afternoon, in what family says is a dangerous downtown neighborhood, about nine miles from work.

Friends and family have been actively searching the Brunswick area for clues that may lead to Whited.

Glynn County police told Action News Friday, they were tracing her steps from the moment she left work, to where she may have gone for lunch. Several people have been questioned involving Whited's disappearance, but no arrests have been made just yet.

The body will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab for an autopsy and positive identification.
