CRITICAL MISSING: Derrick Ratchford, 48 - Linden, NEW JERSEY (SUFFERED STROKE - SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS - DIABETIC - IN NEED OF MEDICATIONS)

Police are looking for a 48-year-old man, with health issues, who has been missing since Monday.

Police said Derrick Ratchford, a resident of the 200 block of Dill Avenue, was reported missing by his brother. He was last seen at about 11 a.m. Monday.

Ratchford recently suffered a stroke and has short-term memory loss. He also suffers from high blood pressure and is a diabetic in need of his medication. These factors could have him wandering in a disoriented state.

Police have checked local hospitals and the neighborhood but have not located Ratchford.

When Ratchford was last seen, he was riding his yellow Trek mountain bike. He is described as 5-foot-8 or 5-foot-9, about 180 to 190 pounds, and walks dragging his left leg because of the stroke.

Police said he might be wearing jeans, work boots and black and white hat. Ratchford has a former girlfriend in Rahway who has been contacted but has not seen or heard from him.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Linden police at 908-474-8557.
