WASHINGTON COUNTY -The search for Tammy Wallace, a missing rural Washington County woman with mental impairments, has ended with her being located alive and well.

According to the Washington County sheriff, Wallace was discovered at "approximately 2:30 p.m. by a K-9 search team five miles from her residence on the bank of Indian Creek."

The sheriff said she was in good condition with the exception of minor cuts and bruises.

Wallace, age 50, had last been seen in the area of Lodgestone Road just off Highway 185 late Monday night. Sheriff Andy Skiles said early this morning that the department and surrounding agencies were putting forth every effort possible to locate the missing woman.

"I would say there are about a hundred firefighters mixed in with law enforcement on the ground right now. They continued the search all night last night," Skiles had said.

The subdivision where Wallace lives is bordered by the Mark Twain National Forest to the south and the Pea Ridge Subdivision to the north. Both areas encompass literally thousands of acres of wilderness containing creeks, trails, caves and old logging roads.

Skiles said he wished to thank everyone who put in time in the search for Wallace.
