Missing endangered woman found in good health
MESA, Ariz. -
Mesa Police have located an 83-year-old woman who suffers from severe Alzheimer's and went missing Thursday night.
Dovie Irene Kennemer was last seen about 8:45 p.m. Thursday. She was visiting with family in the area of Ellsworth and Guadalupe and getting ready to leave with her daughter-in-law. Her daughter-in-law ran inside for a quick minute and when she came out, Dovie was gone.
She was located about 3:15 p.m. two houses away from her original location. She appears to be in good health, police said.
Dovie was found inside the garage of a home belonging to a Mesa "snowbird" couple. The garage door was closed, and it's believed she got in through an unlocked side door.
Search crews have been looking for her since Thursday night. They were increasingly worried as temperatures continued to climb.
She suffers from severe Alzheimer's and recently broke her hip.
