Earthly Body Located: Michael Holland 32 Motorcyclist missing - Covington TN

Our prayers to the family, friends and all who love and will miss Michael.

(Tipton County, TN) The Tipton County Sheriff’s department says investigators have found the body of 32-year-old Michael Holland, Jr.

The body was found late Friday near the airport in Tipton County. His motorcycle was found in the same area after someone reported what looked like an accident scene.

Holland had been missing since Wednesday.

Investigators and volunteers searched three counties in hopes of finding him.

Sheriff J.T. “Pancho” Chumley said, “It appears that Mr. Holland ran off into a creek, on a motorcycle, and went down the creek after that. “

Chumley said that it seems he veered off a culvert, and the creek carried him 750 feet off the road.

This comes after a massive search by land and air, involving volunteers and friends from Tipton County and out of town.

“This is one of the most caring communities of all time,” Chumley said. “I can’t even name all the people – the Tennessee Highway Patrol, also there’s people with private helicopters who have come out, private plane, and the Charleston Fire Department. Everyone’s been great. People with no association with law enforcement have been out, and they’ve been great. Everyone’s been out as a team to make everything happen to try and find the body.”

Devastated friends and family heard the news and rushed to the scene on Cotton Lake Antioch Road.

Chumley said, “It’s one of the toughest things, I think, in law enforcement that we have to do. And our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families and I can’t say enough about it. They will always be in our prayers.”
