A Zephyrhills couple who had been missing since late Friday have been found in Jacksonville, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Joan Stump, 88, and Marvin Stump, 89, had last seen by St. Petersburg police about 10:30 p.m. Friday, when they were stopped in the area of 5th Avenue and Beach Drive. They asked for directions to St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport, and were last seen driving south.

The couple was on their way to pick up their son, but they never arrived at the airport and did not return home, Pasco deputies said.

Deputies said instead, the couple drove all night and ended up in the Jacksonville area. They were involved in a minor traffic accident, and local authorities noticed the vehicle from the alerts sent by the Pasco sheriff's office.

The Stumps, who appeared to have been lost, were taken to a Jacksonville area hospital for observation, officials said. The couple's son who flew in from Indiana is planning to go pick up his parents in Jacksonville.
