SOUTH BRUNSWICK — A 62-year-old woman who was reported missing Thursday in North Brunswick was found Saturday morning, according to the South Brunswick police.
Chandrika Purohit, of the Dayton section, was dropped off by her husband Thursday afternoon at the Walmart on Route 1 in North Brunswick. She was supposed to call him when she was done shopping but never did, Detective Sgt. James Ryan said Friday.
Purohit, who suffers from depression along with other medical conditions, was found after detectives worked for the past two days piecing together video surveillance.
Police were able to track her cellphone to the area near Route 27 and Easton Avenue in New Brunswick at about 8 p.m. Thursday.
Assistance was provided by New Jersey Transit Police, New Brunswick Police and Rutgers University Police.
