ALOHA, OR (KPTV) -

A missing Aloha man with Asperger's syndrome has been found 2,300 miles away.

Deputies said Jorge Villa, 22, was located safely in Nashville, TN.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office put out an alert for him after he left his home Thursday morning and never returned.

His family said he has the mental abilities of a 10-year-old due to his condition, but he is able to get around on public transportation on his own.

Deputies said he went for a short vacation in Tennessee, but his mother told FOX 12 he never said anything about leaving the state.

Maria Villa said he took a Greyhound bus

to Tennessee, where she has a brother. Deputies said he is not in any danger and is considering a return home.

"I get to see him soon," she said.

Maria Villa said her son is OK, but she believes he's scared by the whole situation. She said he is usually very set in his routines, which includes calling from his cell phone while he is out.

Investigators said he didn't call home after he left Thursday and did not answer

his cell phone when his family called him.
