PRESS
RELEASE: July 22, 2012
FAMILY OF
MISSING MAN WORKING WITH NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION OUT OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
The family
of missing Angel Garcia is now working with the nonprofit organization,
LostNMissing Inc., to aid them in their search for their son, Angel
Garcia.
Angel Garcia
went missing on October 21, 2011 while out riding his red Honda dirt
bike. Garcia loves riding the homemade trails in Hartford, CT along
the eastern border and this was a common hobby. However, all changed on that
Friday when Garcia went riding with a friend and it was reported that they
somehow became separated and Angel did not make it home. There has not
been any activity on his bank records, cell phone and no contact made to his
parents, family or friends. This is very concerning as Angel is
especially close with his mom and dad whom he spoke with often every day. Angel has a very large close knit family and a lot of friends. He would not go without making contact. His motor bike is also still missing.
Searches have
been conducted and an ongoing investigation is taking place. LostNMissing
Inc will be organizing a "Shining Hope" event to be scheduled on
August 26, 2012 in which they will call upon volunteers from the community to
help hang missing posters and release balloons of hope for Angel. In
October the group is planning a one-year community event to further aid in
awareness, if he has not been located by that time. The group has rolled
out a website at www.missingangelgarcia.com
and will have continued updates. Information regarding a reward can be found at
the website, as well.

SEARCH TO BE CONDUCTED THIS SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2011:
Volunteers are needed for a community search this Saturday, more than two weeks after 19-year-old Hartford, CT resident, Angel Garcia disappeared.
Following a meeting with Garcia's family this week, Hartford Mayor Pedro E. Segarra and Police Chief Daryl K. Roberts announced their intentions to organize a search party as part of the investigation into the disappearance of Angel.
"Volunteers are being asked to gather at the Tower Avenue entrance to Keney Park by 9:30 a.m. on Saturday," Segarra said. "While I know we, as a community, continue to grapple with the loss of power resulting from the recent storm, I hope individuals can find a way to contribute some of their valuable time to join Angel's family and friends to assist in this search."
Angel Garcia, 19, is missing. He was last seen on October 21, 2011 in the area of Newfield and New Britain avenues on his way to East Hartford, CT. Police said he was riding a red Honda 85 cc dirt bike with a large yellow "Geico" logo on the sides while wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers with a red design.
Angel is known to ride the trails along the eastern border of the Connecticut River in East Hartford.
He is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall who weighs about 180 pounds.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Ivys Arroyo with the Hartford Police Department's Juvenile Investigative Division at 860-757-4236, Sgt. Matthew Eisele at 860-757-4242 or Lt. Dustin Rendock at 860-757-4024. All tips/leads will be held in the strictest confidence.
