#MISSING: Rebekah Leicy, 31 - Mansfield, OHIO

Mansfield police are still looking for Rebekah Leicy, 31, of Wood St., who was reported missing Feb. 6.
A 73-year-old man told police he believes the woman is missing. He had not talked to her in 10 days, he told police Feb. 6. He said this is unusual because he speaks to her every day. Police completed a missing person poster.
Roger Davey, who lives on Third Street, said he reported Leicy missing.
"No one else would," he said Thursday. "Nobody else, I don't know why they didn't come forward. They were all afraid. They didn't think they could."
According to Richland County and Mansfield Municipal court records, Leicy has a criminal history including drug abuse.
Leicy was entered into the law enforcement computer system as a missing person, according to the police report.
"I was straightforward. I knew all these girls, they're into drugs. I said you've got to kick the habit," Davey said.
Davey said Leicy painted the fence in front of his house and he paid her money. He said she always kept in touch and called him. He once visited her in the Richland County Jail, he said — the only time he ever visited someone there.
He recalled how she raked all the leaves in his yard.
Leicy would come to wash dishes, scrub the floor, to earn money, Davey said. "She would help me unload fire wood in my truck. Some of the other girls would, too. You'd give them a five or a ten."
Davey said police would stop her and she would tell them she was going to Roger's to earn money.
Mansfield police Lt. Rob Skropits said police have sent a missing persons report to Cleveland and Detroit.
Skropits said police searched some houses recently on Third Street for Leicy but have not had any tips or heard anything in awhile.
"If she was still here we would have found her by now," Skropits said.
Another person told police that Leicy borrowed his phone the night she went missing; in the past she had always given it back to him. Skropits said the cell phone Leicy reportedly had is off.
Another person told police he heard the woman outside his window talking on the phone. He looked out the window and heard her say, "Here they come now," and then she hung up the phone. He told police he saw her get into a newer dark-colored Dodge Charger, blue or black in color, occupied with three or four large men. He told police the car left at a high rate of speed.
Police on Feb. 6 interviewed a neighbor on Wood Street who said she saw Leicy walking north on Wood Street toward Marion Avenue at roughly 1 a.m. Jan. 23.
The neighbor told police she talked with Leicy briefly and said that Leicy was heading to West Third Street. The neighbor told Leicy that Third Street was "dead" and wasn't worth her time. The neighbor said Leicy replied she was going to Third Street for a different reason, according to the police report.
Davey said Leicy did not come to his house and he has no idea if she was headed to his house the night she went missing. And he doesn't believe Leicy would ever have gotten into a car.
"She was tough as nails, country girl," he said. ".... She would have grabbed that wheel. She was smart. She would have steered that car right into a parked car. They wouldn't have gotten her off that street. If she didn't want to be in there, even if she was in the back, she was too smart. She would have outsmarted them," Davey said. "But I think that's what she did. She robbed them."
Anyone with information is asked to call Mansfield police Detective Bill Bushong at 419-755-9432.
