Investigators are asking the public for help in locating a Sandusky man missing since Friday afternoon.
Albert "AJ" Fresch, 29, of Columbus Avenue, parked his vehicle at the downtown parking garage Friday around noon and left walking eastbound on East Market Street, Sandusky police Detective Dana Newell said.
Police learned of Fresch's disappearance a few hours later after he failed to show up at a family gathering, and investigators have been searching for him since.
His phone has been turned off and no one has had any contact with the man since Friday, Newell said.
"He was distraught over some things," Newell said. "We just want to make sure he's OK."
According to a related police report, Fresch's gun is also missing from his gun safe.
Even so, Newell stressed that there was no sign a crime had been committed.
Fresch was last seen wearing a flannel jacket, jeans and a hat. He also walks with a limp, the detective said.
Police have contacted a multitude of area law enforcement agencies, but none have been able to provide any leads on Fresch's whereabouts. Officers also checked with local taxi drivers and hospitals in both Sandusky and Port Clinton, as well local bars Fresch is known to patronize. Additionally, police checked with Kelleys Island police and Griffing Air Service, as Fresch has relatives on the island. All of those inquiries, however, have thus far provided no new information on Fresch's location.

Anyone with information should call Sandusky police immediately at 419-627-5902.
