#MISSING: Maria Torres Martinez, 16 - Oswego, Illinois (may be headed to Maryland)

Oswego police are expanding their search for a missing Oswego East High School student who may be headed to Maryland.
Oswego Police Department Capt. Jeff Burgner said Maria Torres Martinez was last seen at Oswego East High School, 1525 Harvey Road, around 11 a.m. Friday.
Martinez, of Aurora, failed to return to class, and the search for her began.
The last known images of Martinez, taken by video at the school, show the teen carrying a large duffel bag that appears to be full.
"We don't know what she had in her bag with her, but it appears this was a possible planned event," Burgner said Saturday morning. "The bag leads us to believe there was not some type of foul play involved."
Martinez was reported missing after she failed to return to class on Friday afternoon. Since she did not leave through a main entrance at OEHS, it is impossible to determine when exactly she left, or what door she exited through, Burgner said.
Family members of the teen gave no indication that there had been domestic problems at home.
The girl's mother did note that Martinez has friends and family in the Baltimore area, and that she might be traveling there.
"It's just an angle we're looking at," Burgner said. "But, there's no real indication that that's where she's heading."
Burgner said Martinez did not have a vehicle of her own when she left school, but did have a cell phone in her possession.
Police have found no phone records that have helped them locate the teen.
While their search remains steadfast, Burgner said there is no indication to believe Martinez is in danger or that she is with anybody else.
"There's some more work to be done," he said. "We're reaching out to Maryland, to see if we can't work with local police there. We're also working with the girl's mom, who is cooperating."
Anyone with information is asked to call Oswego police at 630-551-7300.
