SILVER ALERT: Teresa Ann Smith, 44 - Alexander County, NORTH CAROLINA (may be driving a green 1997 Toyota Camry with NC plate CHV2879)


 A 44-year-old woman has gone missing, prompting the Alexander County Sheriff's Office to issue a Silver Alert to aid in their search.

Teresa Ann Smith, 44, was last seen in the 3000 block of NC Highway 16 South in Alexander County.

According to authorities, Smith suffers from dementia or some sort of cognitive impairment, and family members and law enforcement are concerned for her safety.

Smith is described as a white female with reddish-brown hair, brown eyes, weighing about 140 pounds and standing 5-foot-7. She was last seen wearing an orange shirt and tan shorts.

Smith may be driving a green 1997 Toyota Camry with NC tags "CHV2879".
