A 6-year-old boy, who went missing at a shopping plaza in Vernon on Friday afternoon, was located.
Nate Stillman was reported missing at Shops at 30 Plaza, which are located on Hartford Turnpike, around 2 p.m.
Nate was shopping with mom and grandfather inside the Just Like New Consignment shop when he decided to hide between a wooden bookcase and a wall, which is believed to be an 8-inch space.
Police searched that store multiple times, but did not locate Nate. They told Eyewitness News even though they were yelling his name, he wasn't answering them.
Manchester and Vernon police along with Vernon fire and Connecticut State Police helped in the search.
After more officers were brought in, police did a more thorough search and located Nate in the space between the wall.
Around 3:45 p.m., police said that Nate was located in Vernon after a brief search. He was found in a bookcase cavity inside the store, according to police.
As she hugged Nate, his mother, Michelle Stillman, told the media that she was thankful that her son was found safe and sound.
"I'm just thankful for my son back right now and thank you for getting a picture out there and everyone for responding so quickly," Michelle Stillman said. "I'm so grateful and I just wanted to say thank you that's all
