Local authorities are searching for a 42-year-old Ark City woman who been missing since Thursday morning.
Jayna Renee Dewitt was last seen a little bit after 8 a.m. She did not show up for her regularly scheduled shift Friday at her job.
A family member and co-workers became concerned when the local woman did not make it to work and didn't come home. They contacted authorities late Thursday and a search for the woman began then.
She is said to be 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 100 pounds.
"Certainly her disappearance would seem suspicious," Cowley County sheriff Don Read said. "At this time though, we're just working a missing persons case. We'd like to help locate her. There's no indication of foul play, so far."
If you have seen Dewitt or have information about her whereabouts, contact the sheriff's department at 221-5444 or CrimeStoppers at 442-7777.
