The body of a Monroe woman, who left home in December and was not heard from since, was found in a wooded area off Route 94 near Craigsville Road in the Town of Blooming Grove.
Lynn Barratt, 29, lived at 119 Circle Drive in Monroe with her fiancé, his parents, and her two daughters, ages one and two. She left home on December 7, 2013 at about 3 p.m. She was last seen shortly thereafter near a home in the Village of Chester.
At 12:15 p.m. on Friday, a person spotted a body lying in the woods just off Route 94. State Police said the remains were than of Barratt, and appear to have been there for a long time.
Her body was removed to the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Police said the death does not appear to be suspicious at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
