Raleigh police were searching Wednesday afternoon for a 16-year-old girl who went missing from the 300 block of Hargett Street.
The North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a Silver Alert for Shannon Kaylee Vaughn at about 2 p.m., saying she could be suffering from a cognitive impairment.
Vaughn was last seen in the 3100 block of Anderson Drive, and authorities said she could be headed toward Wilmington.
Vaughn is white, stands about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She has long brown hair and brown eyes.
When she disappeared, Vaughn was wearing green pants, a tan tank top and a tan long sleeve shirt. A photo of Vaughn was not immediately available.
