Authorities are searching for Deb Rawlins, a 60-year-old woman missing since Saturday who suffers from Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s diseases and does not have her medication with her.
Larry Rawlins, her husband of 39 years, said he and his wife got in an argument Saturday afternoon at their Pevely home and she walked out of their house carrying a purple backpack. He drove after her and tried to convince her to come with him, but she refused, he said.
She also refused to get in a car with a friend who tried to pick her up, he said.
Deb Rawlins was last seen about 4:15 p.m. Saturday on Scenic Drive in Herculaneum, about two miles from her home, according to authorities. Larry Rawlins said he reported her missing Sunday morning.
Cellphone records show she was in Herculaneum subdivisions west of Interstate 55, but her phone went dead Sunday evening, her husband said.
Search efforts have been focused on that area, which is about four miles from the Rawlins' home, and on putting upMissouri State Highway Patrol missing-persons fliers with her picture and circumstances of her disappearance.
"I don't know what her state of mind is. She hasn't had her medication since Saturday," said Larry Rawlins.
He said his wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease last year after problems doing her job at a gas station in the Imperial area.
"It got to be where she had a hard time dealing with customers and she started making mistakes," he said.
He said she was carrying $15 at most when she left, and he doesn't know if she put snacks in her backpack. He said he didn't see any water containers.
Deb Rawlins was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and blue denim shorts. She has brown hair and brown eyes, stands 5-feet-2-inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She also could be wearing a grey hoodie.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Pevely police at 636-475-5301.
Respectfully,
