"I just want him to come through the door. That's all. This is horrible, a horrible feeling," cried Mildred Jones.
It's probably the biggest wish Mildred Jones will ever have, a wish that her 23 year old son Richard Jones will come home.
Richard is a Senior Airman with the Niagara Falls Air Reserve station. He lives with his mother in her Herkimer Street home in Buffalo but the last time Mildred saw her son was more than two weeks ago on October 22nd.
"I keep praying and asking for visions...and believe that he's going to be alright. That he's coming home," said Mildred.
Mildred's grandson and Richard's nephew look at pictures of their loved one wondering where he could be. Looking back Mildred says her son had been acting strange in the days leading up to his disappearance.
"He would stay in the room and sometimes he get so quiet I would say Richard, Richard and he'd say hmmm," Mildred explained.
Richard had been dealing with a series of events over the past year. He lost his job as a telephone collection agent and had been collecting unemployment. Then he lost his car. He was also coping with the death of his father in April.
But one thing Richard never missed was his mandatory monthly training drills at the 914th Airbase.
When he didn't show up to the scheduled training last Saturday, November 3rd, Mildred got a sick feeling in her stomach.
"Every day is harder and harder. Everyday I wake up and he's not here or I don't hear anything from him, it hurts worse and worse. It just hurts so bad," she cried.
The Niagara Falls Air Reserve station says Richard was in good standing with the base and he did show up to the October monthly training.
