Kentucky State Police are searching for a missing and endangered teen girl.

State police said Cheyenne Vires, 16, was being taken to Morehead, Kentucky, by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Police said while traveling on Interstate 64 in Shelby County, Vires kicked out a window on the rear driver's side door and threatened to jump from the moving vehicle. Police said the driver slowed the vehicle down and Vires got out of the vehicle through the broken window and ran away.

Police said Vires ran along I-64 and tried to get into a maroon truck. Police said they do not know whether Vires was able to get into that truck or if she was picked up by the driver in the truck. State police along with other local police agencies searched the area extensively, but could not find Vires.

Vires is described as a white female with medium length brown hair and gray/green eyes. She has a scar on the right side of her mouth. She was last seen wearing a red/burgundy sweater, white T-shirt, blue jeans and sneakers.

If you come into contact with the missing juvenile, please call the KSP or any local law enforcement agency.

If you have seen Vires or have information about where she might be, please contact the KSP Frankfort Post at 502-227-2221 or 1-800-222-5555.
