PORTLAND, Ore. -- The mother of three children is missing after dropping off her 12-year-old son at a north Portland school this past week.

On Friday morning Elizabeth Hoppes (Hop-es) left her home on North Rosa Parks Way -- off North Vancouver Avenue, just west of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. She dropped off one of her three children at the Holy Redeemer Catholic School on Rosa Parks Way around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Family says they haven't heard from her since.

Calls to the house went unanswered as of 10:30 a.m. Friday. And Hoppes is now overdue for her at-home dialysis and daily medications -- health issues which "make finding her [very] important," said a Portland Police Bureau spokesman.

The family has filed a missing person's report with the Portland Police Bureau, and is asking anyone who might have seen their mother or her Chevy to come forward.

Her 26-year-old daughter, Kathryn Faist talked to KOIN Saturday. She said family members and friends have searched top-to-bottom in their home, the neighborhood, nearby Peninsula Park and parking lots in Portland's Delta Park and Jantzen Beach areas.

Hoppes is described as someone who makes quick friends and is a mother to all: "She has three 'blood children' and a slew of kids she's taken under her wing over the years," Faist said.

She is 5-feet-2-inches tall, 135 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing dark-colored clothes. Faist said her mother also is recovering from a sprained ankle, so she'll be walking with a limp.

Hoppes' 2002 silver Chevy Malibu has been missing since Friday morning. Her daughter says it has an Oregon license plate number of 896-EDT, dark tinted windows and a hood that "doesn't sit evenly."

Faist says her mother's wallet and driver's license were found at the house.

UPDATE 10/21: On Sunday the Portland Police Bureau sent out the following release to its news contacts:

"Medically fragile woman is missing from the Arbor Lodge neighborhood

"On Friday October 19, 2012 at 8:20 p.m. Portland Police officers assigned to North Precinct responded to the 6000 block of North Campbell on a report of a woman missing.

"Arriving officers learned that 47-year-old Elizabeth Hoppes was missing since 10:00 am Friday morning, she did not arrive at work as expected. Family indicates that this is uncommon and unexpected and concerning.

"Officers learned that Elizabeth is an American Indian, 5'2 inches tall, 135 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing dark gray sweat pants and sweat shirt...

"Elizabeth is believed to be driving a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu, 4 door, silver in color and has Oregon license 896EDT.  Her family told officers that she will be in need of medical care for a condition she suffers from.

"Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Elizabeth Hoppes is asked to immediately call 9-1-1."
