An 82-year-old at risk man is missing, and the police are asking for the public's help in finding him.
According to the police, he walked away from his Oakland home Saturday afternoon and is considered to be at risk due to his health.
Peter Gales hasn't been seen since leaving his residence on Sequoyah View Drive, near the Sequoyah Golf Course, around 4 p.m. Saturday.
Gales suffers from dementia and diabetes, so he's thought to be at-risk. Police are asking the public for any information that might help get him home safely.
Gales is described as an 82-year-old black man with a limp. He has brown eyes, white hair, and is roughly 5 feet 10 inches tall and 140 pounds, according to police.
He was last seen wearing a red long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans, walking a small white dog.
Anyone with additional information about Gales' whereabouts is asked to contact the Oakland Police Department's missing persons unit at (510) 238-3641. CONTACT: Oakland police (510) 238-7230
