Earthly body located; Noah Michael Dewitt, 24 - Eugene, OREGON

EUGENE, Ore. – The body found in the Fillmore Pump Station has been identified as Noah Michael Dewitt, age 24, of Eugene who was reported missing by a friend in February.
On February 15, around 2 a.m., Dewitt left the home of a friend on W. 27th Avenue on foot. The friend who reported him missing said Dewitt was in distress, which increased the concern for his well-being.
The body was recovered from the bottom of a "wet well" at a sewage pumping station earlier this week during a routine maintenance check.
The pump station handles wastewater flows from south and west Eugene.
Crews are continuing to investigate how the body entered the sewer system. The wastewater collection system is entirely enclosed and the pumping station is surrounded by a locked fence ringed with barbed wire. Access to the vault also requires a key.
