Earthly body located; Dale Miller, 78 - Appleton City, MISSOURI

The family of a 78-year-old man who disappeared from his rural home last October can now properly bury him. They'd concluded months ago that Dale Miller had died but they still wanted to find his remains.
Dale Miller, 78, lived near Appleton City.

On Wednesday, a search by St. Clair County sheriff's deputies and friends of Miller's family found his remains about a mile north of his home in northwestern St. Clair County.

Miller was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and disappeared last Oct. 25 when he wandered into the woods near his home. Sheriff's deputies, family, friends and numerous volunteers conducted several searches and extensive ground checks for many weeks.

Last Tuesday, someone found a boot in a stream on a nearby property. It matched the description of boots that Miller was wearing when he disappeared. Searchers found his remains the next afternoon.

Investigators do not suspect foul play.
