Earthly body located; Anita Cupo, 78 - South Bound Brook, NEW JERSEY

The 78-year-old woman who was the subject of a silver alert issued Thursday was found dead in her vehicle later that day in Franklin Township, police said Monday.

Anita Cupo was reported missing at 7 a.m. and was found shortly before 5 p.m. dead in her vehicle, said Lt. Jeff Titus of the South Bound Brook Police Department.

Officers with the Franklin Police Department located her in the parking lot of a shopping mall on 940 Easton Avenue, Titus said. The mall contains a Kmart, Stop & Shop and Dressbarn, among other stores.

Sgt. Philip Rizzo of the Franklin Police Department said an anonymous female called 911 to report an elderly woman appeared to be unconscious and not breathing in her vehicle.

Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene at 5:12 p.m, Rizzo said. He said there were no indications of foul play.
