Billboard Will Soon Be Visible for Missing Man Timothy Hamlett

Community residents will soon notice a billboard for missing Timothy Hamlett who disappeared on December 26, 2014. Hamlett's parents obtained the help of LostNMissing Inc., a nonprofit organization based out of New England, to help bring awareness to the plight of their missing son.  Katherine Hamlet, mother of Timothy, says "This billboard represents our continued and expanded efforts to locate our beloved son, and a manifestation of the unyielding love, hope and faith in God that orders each and every step of this journey."

Timothy left his home in Teaneck, NJ on December 26, 2014 at approximately 6pm and indicated that he was going to visit someone locally. However, it is believed that he went to the Washington Heights area in New York City. Approximately, three days later, Timothy's cell phone and wallet were found on 174th Street between Broadway and Fort Washington Ave. in Washington Heights. He is a junior (on leave) at the University of Pennsylvania and former member of their Track & Field Team.

According to April Ayers, Family Services Administrator at LostNMissing, "One of the key purposes of the billboard is to have Timothy's photo displayed with the hopes that someone may recognize him or what may have happened to him."  Hamlett further adds, "Our search efforts include enlisting the help of family and friends to form search teams in multiple cities; ongoing calls to shelters and hospitals across multiple states, outreach to traditional and social media; and, using a truck with his photo and a megaphone alerting the public of his disappearance. These efforts are now going nationwide. We are tremendously grateful to the generous and caring people who have helped us along the way because we can't do this alone."

In working to obtain the billboard, LostNMissing teamed up with Mike Muschiano, Sales Manager with Lamar Advertising Company; in New York, NY, to help bring the need of reaching a large audience for awareness.  Lamar group is donating the space of the billboard.

The billboard will be located on the corner of Broadway and 175th Street for 3 weeks. His mother wanted to especially note that, "We are asking the public to please help us.  If you have seen Timothy or know of his whereabouts please call the number on the billboard, or your local police.  You can even post the lead on FB at his Missing Timothy Hamlett page. Timothy is truly loved and missed by so many people:  his family, his friends and coaches from, high school and college, his expansive community of neighbors, teachers, tutors, you name it; everyone is deeply affected by his absence. He is loved, loved, loved – plain and simple."

Should anyone have information on the disappearance of Timothy, or believe they may have found any of his personal items, to please contact the Teaneck Police Department, Detective Kevin Brennan at (201) 837-2600, or your local police. Please reference Teaneck Police Department's case # PD-14-051618. A reward has been established and terms can be found on the "Missing Timothy Hamlett" Facebook page. A family tip line can be accessed by calling 917.686.0087.
