Located safe; Leon Williams, 66 - Clay, New York

CLAY, N.Y. -- Leon Williams, the 66-year-old man who was reported missing from his apartment in the town of Clay, was found Saturday night, police said.

Officers located Williams around 9:30 p.m. in the city of Syracuse near Oakwood Avenue, Onondaga County sheriff's detective Jon Seeber said.

Williams was not injured, but was taken to Upstate University Hospital for evaluation, Seeber said. Family members told police that Williams suffers from dementia and often becomes confused. When they reported him missing, they told police that Williams has ties to Syracuse and could be wandering the city streets.
