Earthly body located; Angela Russell, 45 - Splendora Texas

The husband of a Splendora woman who went missing Dec. 18 has been charged with her murder after the woman's body was located Saturday in Liberty County.

Orville Clay Russell, 70, is being held at the Montgomery County Jail on a $1 million bond after his arrest Saturday.

The body of Angela Porter Russell, 45, was found near the west side of the Texas 105 bypass in Cleveland, just a few miles from the Russells' home on Mustang Road in Splendora. She was last seen by family members the evening of Dec. 18, just a day after her daughter had given birth to twin girls.

The body was transported to the Montgomery County Forensics Center for an autopsy and identification, which was confirmed Monday, according to MCSO Capt. Brady Fitzgerald, spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office.

Fitzgerald could not say what led investigators to the Cleveland area where the body was recovered or whether Angela Russell's vehicle had been located.
