Earthly body located and identified; Daniel Ha, 26 - San Francisco, California

More than two months after a body believe to be that of a missing tech worker was found in San Francisco Bay near the Golden Gate Bridge, the Medical Examiner's Office on Sunday confirmed the man's identity.

Daniel Ha, 26, was last seen leaving his apartment in the South of Market neighborhood on Halloween.

Less than two weeks later on Nov. 11, the U.S. Coast Guard and San Francisco fire crews responded to reports of a body floating in the Bay. The body of the person crews retrieved appeared to have been dead for a week, Coast Guard officials said.

The next day, Ha's family said they believed the body to be that of Ha, even though the face and body were indistinguishable.

According to the Facebook page "Find Dan Ha," Ha was an iOS developer at a local startup called Metromile and a Stanford University graduate.

The Medical Examiner's Office said in a statement Sunday that Ha was identified with assistance from the California Department of Justice, Bureau of Forensic Services DNA Laboratory.

The cause and manner of death remain pending, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
