Earthly body located and identified; Constance "Connie" Snyder, 28 - Kalkaska, MICHIGAN

KALKASKA – First, local police officials recovered a woman's body. Then, they identified the remains as those of a Kalkaska woman who's been missing for over two months. Now, they're hoping to find out how and why she died.

The body of 28-year-old Constance "Connie" Snyder of Kalkaska was discovered in the Village of Kalkaska about 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, according to Kalkaska Village Police Department officials. The discovery of Snyder's remains came just a little more than two months after she'd been reported missing in mid-October.

"I received confirmation … our victim in the water is in fact our missing female, Constance Snyder, from Oct. 18," said KVPD Chief of Police Kevin Rohn in an announcement early last week. "There is no cause of death at this point, as we are still waiting on reports from the lab and the doctor that performed the autopsy."
