Earthly body located; Greg Ariola Almodovar 23 - Long Beach, California

The body of a 23-year-old man who disappeared last week under what authorities described as suspicious circumstances was found in the Los Angeles River Monday.

Police discovered the body in the area of the river located near Pacific Coast Highway (map) at about 7:15 a.m., according to a news release from the Long Beach Police Department.

Los Angeles coroner's officials identified the man as Greg Ariola Almodovar, who was reported missing on Wednesday.

His cause of death was undetermined, according to the news release.
