Police are searching for an elderly man with dementia who walked away from his South Side health care provider on Friday.
Sylvester Franklin, 71, was last seen about 4:30 p.m. at a Bridgeport neighborhood McDonald's restaurant at 3020 S. Halsted St., according to a missing person alert from Chicago Police. Franklin lives in the 7900 block of South Kingston.
He is described as a 5-foot-9, 165-pound black man last seen wearing a blue hat and jacket, beige pants and white gym shoes.
Franklin, who suffers from dementia, frequents several South Side laundromats and McDonald's restaurants, police said.
