Silver Alert cancelled located safe; Ethel Crescenzo 79 - Surprise, Arizona

A Surprise woman who was reported missing Thursday afternoon has been found, officials said.

Ethel Crescenzo, 79, was found Sunday by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, according to Surprise Police Department spokesman James Jackson.
Around noon, MCSO deputies found her unoccupied car near 179th Avenue and Dove Valley Road, a rural desert area with extremely rough terrain. MCSO deputies, Surprise police, K-9 teams from the Arizona Department of Corrections and MCSO's search and rescue team and helicopter searched the desert near the vehicle, Jackson said in a release.
Four hours later, the MCSO air unit found Crescenzo down an embankment approximately 300 yards from her car. She had many scrapes and bruises as a result of falling, and was taken to a hospital by a medical helicopter.
Crescenzo told Surprise police that she became lost and stopped near where she was found. She said did not know how long she had been lost in the area, Jackson said.
She was reunited with her family at the hospital.
Crescenzo had last been seen leaving her Surprise residence Tuesday morning heading to the Talking Stick Casino near Scottsdale, a statement from the Surprise Police Department said.
The Arizona Department of Transportation issued a Silver Alert for the woman on Thursday afternoon.
