UPDATE: Katy McDonald has been located and is safe, according to family members.

For the first time, we are hearing from a Charlotte County family who hasn't seen their daughter in nearly a week. Friends and family say they are concerned for Katy McDonald's safety.
McDonald's mother and neighbors say it's unlike her to disappear without contacting anyone.
"We just feel hollow inside. It's just like a stone instead of a heart. It's rough," said Gwen Alvarez, Katy McDonald's mother.
"I've been trying to text Katy, call her. No answer. No return," said Robert Carroll, a friend and neighbor of McDonald's.
The close-knit community in Charlotte Harbor is desperate for answers as they search for 34-year-old Katy McDonald.
