Silver alert canceled located safe; Theresa Ann Smith 44 Alexander County, North Carolina

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. -- The Alexander County Sheriff's Office has canceled the Silver Alert they issued over the weekend.

The Sheriff's Office issued the alert for Teresa Ann Smith, 44, on Sunday.

According to authorities, Smith suffers from dementia or some sort of cognitive impairment, and family members and law enforcement were concerned for her safety.

Officials have not yet released any information regarding her return home.
