LostNMissing Inc and the family of Brandon Lawson to hold a "Shining Hope" Event on Saturday, April 26, 2014 in Crowley, Texas

Apr. 21, 2014 - BRONTE, Texas -- Friends and family of a missing San Angelo man are planning a Shining Hope event this weekend. Brandon Lawson was 26 years old when he went missing in the early hours on August 09, 2013 after running out of gas on Interstate 277 near Bronte, Texas. The family hopes the event will raise awareness and perhaps bring tips to law enforcement. The gathering will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Bicentennial Park located at 900 E. Glendale St. Crowley, TX 76036 and is open to the public. Attendees will gather at the Pavilion. A prayer will be done and missing posters of Lawson will be handed to all who attend. Volunteers will hang posters in communities from Abilene to Crowley. The event is sponsored by LostNMissing Inc., a nonprofit organization assisting Lawson’s family. Cynthia Caron, president of LostNMissing says, “Our goal is to have as many posters hung so that a memory may possibly be recalled by someone who may have information that they can bring to law enforcement.”
Lawson phoned 9-1-1 in the early hours, on August 9, asking for help after running out of gas in his truck. He indicated he was in trouble and needed help. Unfortunately, the dispatch could not clearly understand Lawson and only captured he was “in a field” and asked for them to please hurry. The tape was garbled and difficult to understand. According to media, and law enforcement, a passing truck driver also phoned 9-1-1 after seeing Lawson’s abandoned truck parked haphazardly on the side of Interstate 277 south of Bronte. A massive search around the area of his truck was done in late October by TexSar and with assistance by various law enforcement agencies but no signs of Lawson was found. A number of helicopter searches has been done, as well.
Ladessa Lofton, Lawson’s common-law wife (and mother of 3 of his children) adds “Brandon has four children who ask about their father every day. This has been a nightmare for our family and all we want is to learn what happened to Brandon?” Lofton fears he is no longer alive as she firmly believes he would never purposely walk away from his family and children. “We’ve endured rumors on social media because original news reporting painted a picture that Brandon was a fugitive on the run. Brandon would never run from his kids and while he had an outstanding warrant we were in the process of saving to pay his fine and addressing it through our lawyer.” She further added, “Even if Brandon were to serve jail time, he would have seen his children on visitation until released. To say he ran to avoid being apprehended is ridiculous.”
Caron further added, “Regardless of an old warrant, Brandon was a hard working father who held a job in the oil fields and his four children are the world to him. If he is missing, we believe it is not because he wants to be. Something happened to him in those fields and we also believe there is a second voice on the 9-1-1 tape and if that proves to be correct, that person has knowledge as to what has happened to Brandon and where he may be.” Law enforcement has never claimed a second voice on the tape and previous statements in media reports by law enforcement was that the tape was ‘ too distorted to fully understand what was being conveyed.’ She further adds, “We ask that anyone with information to please contact TxDPS at (512) 424-5074 , or Sheriff WayneMcCutchen at (325) 453-2717 and they may request to remain anonymous. This family needs to know what has happened to Brandon.”
