Abducted Infant: Daphne Viola Webb, 21 months - Oakland, CA (AMBER ALERT)

OAKLAND -- Authorities have issued an Amber Alert for a 21-month-old girl who was abducted late Wednesday morning in East Oakland.

At 11:09 a.m., a man called Oakland police and told them he had left his 21-month-old daughter, Daphne Viola Webb, in a vehicle with a relative who is disabled, while he went to Gazzali's Supermarket, at 7838 International Avenue.

When he returned from the store a few minutes later, Daphne was missing.

She is described as black, about two feet tall, weighing 30 pounds, with a medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes, with part of her left ear missing. She was last seen wearing an orange pajama set with pink hearts and pink socks.

Police said the girl was taken by an unknown black female suspect. Authorities did not identify a vehicle associated with the kidnapping.

Police have established a command post near the scene. Extra officers and a tracking dog have been brought in to comb the area, and a police helicopter is helping with the search.
