Tom William Thomas, 71, disappeared Sat afternoon

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A police officer found a Kalamazoo Township man Sunday who disappeared Saturday.
Tom William Thomas, 71, suffers from the early stages of dementia and needs to take insulin for his diabetes, police said. He also suffers from depression and is reportedly despondent over a recent decline in his health, according to police.
He had left his home around 2:20 p.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Chicago Avenue.
A Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety K-9 unit assisted Kalamazoo Township police officers in the search effort on Saturday.
Then Sunday morning, a KDPS officer was driving into work and spotted Thomas in the 1500 block of Gull Road.
Thomas was unharmed and returned home.
